Learn the rules of Hashi Bridges
Choose a round of Hashi Bridges and settle into its rules. Connect all islands into one network with exactly the indicated number of attached bridges. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Check the rule that explains your first action. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.
Choose from ten nine-island layouts. Join adjacent islands along the straight connections shown.
Something to practise
Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Refer to the controls when needed.
The objective of a round
Connect all islands into one network with exactly the indicated number of attached bridges. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Check the rules when you are unsure.
Making your moves
- Select two neighbouring islands or click an edge.
- Cycle zero, one or two bridges.
- Match every numbered island.
- Check puzzle also verifies the islands form one network.
Using the playing area
Click or tap squares or graph edges. Number boards include a digit pad. Undo reverses the previous change; Check puzzle validates the solution. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Avoid pressing the same control repeatedly while a move is being processed.
Learn from a sample situation
An island marked 3 may use a double bridge and a single bridge. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Notice the change in the playing area.
Avoid this misunderstanding
Correct totals in separate disconnected groups do not win. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
